A Marine Corps veteran and former state and federal prosecutor, Mr. Solis brings nineteen years of public service and courtroom experience to the firm’s criminal defense practice. He served as an artillery officer in Iraq, prosecuted cases at the state level in New Mexico, and spent years as a federal prosecutor with the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of New Mexico before turning his experience to the defense of the accused.
Biography
Mr. Solis approaches every case with the discipline and commitment he learned in the Marine Corps. He is known for exhaustive preparation and for the genuine investment he brings to his clients’ matters, particularly for people who find themselves outmatched by the government on the other side. However difficult the case, he puts his full effort into securing the best possible result.
Mr. Solis has spent his career in public service. He attended Officer Candidate School in 2003 and served in the United States Marine Corps as an artillery officer, deploying in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After attending law school on the G.I. Bill and continuing to serve in the Marine Corps Reserve, he began his legal career as a prosecutor in New Mexico, handling cases that ranged from DWI and property crimes to violent offenses.
In 2018, he joined the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of New Mexico, where he prosecuted narcotics and firearms offenses along with white-collar matters. The part of the work he valued most was giving individuals a voice against the power of the government, and he came to believe he could do that even more effectively on the defense side. He joined Keith & Lorfing to bring his prosecutorial experience to the representation of people facing serious criminal exposure.
