Michael Orndorff

Over a career of more than twenty years with the FBI, Mr. Orndorff handled some of the most sensitive work in federal law enforcement. His investigations spanned terrorism and national security threats as well as complex white-collar crime, and he built particular experience in the areas where those worlds meet: sensitive investigations, complex evidence, and crisis response.

He served as the lead FBI Special Agent in the successful disruption of a terrorist plot involving Khalid Aldawsari, a federal national security matter that demanded close coordination, disciplined handling of highly sensitive information, and sound judgment under significant pressure. Cases of that kind turn on the ability to build a record that withstands scrutiny and to act decisively when public safety is on the line, and they are the through-line of his federal career.

Now retired from the Bureau, Mr. Orndorff advises the firm on federal criminal defense, government investigations, and national security matters. His years on the investigative side give the firm’s trial teams an informed view of how federal cases are opened, built, and pursued, and how best to respond on behalf of clients who find themselves under government scrutiny.
